Arrive any time between 5pm - 8pm on the first evening (Friday).


​DAY 1 (Saturday) - THE PINNACLES
BREAKFAST, PACKED LUNCH, DINNER

Approx 7-8 hours return - Moderate Walk

A magical walk thru beautiful bush in the heart of the Kauaeranga Valley.

Follow the historic packhorse route used by kauri bushmen in the 1920’s. The Pinnacles walk climbs thru a re-generating Kauri forest, over bridges, past a kauri dam winding your way up thru the bush coming out at the Pinnacles Hut.  You may stop for a rest and a drink before your final climb to the top of the Pinnacle rocks which will reward you with the most breath taking 360 degree view of the Coromandel Peninsula.

Take time to enjoy the magical surroundings before your decent.

DAY 2 (Sunday) - Departure Day

​You may wish to do either of the following on your way home

HAURAKI RAIL TRAIL CYCLEWAY
​Paeroa – Waikino – Paeroa – 28km (easy) or
Paeroa – Waihi – 25km


Enjoy a picturesque ride thru the country side and along the river thru the Karangahape Gorge. ​Stop for lunch at the falls and maybe a swim before heading on to your destination of Waihi.  Explore Waihi this interesting gold mining town.

WAIOMU KAURI WALK 
​2 hours return – easy walking


Just a short walk thru the beautiful regenerating bush and kauri grove.  At the end of your walk you can enjoy lunch while sitting on the beach, enjoy a swim or just take in the beautiful scenery before heading home.

Walks can be altered to suit if required.
​DAY 1 - Alternative Walk 
Karaka/Waiotahi Loop

An interesting walk that follows the Karaka Stream.  You will head uphill thru native bush coming out to a clearing with a view over the Kauaeranga Valley before heading inland and then heading back down the Waiotahi side of the track getting a glimpse of the coast on the way down.  Check out photo's on the "News and More Blog" page.
DAY 2 - Alternative Cycle "NEW TRAIL"
Kopu - Kaiaua (55km)

Internationally renown for its 'Wetlands of International Significance’ and migratory shorebirds.
